Gardening
Gardening flowers outside
When the people went to Vector they had fun and the other people had fun gardening. We planted lavender poppy New Zealand grass and a golden star. We spent the whole day gardening. It was fun. When they came back from Vector, they told us about their trip. They told us that they went in Beyonce and Rihanna changing rooms and they win a prize and had free lunch and came back to school. The people that stayed had lunch at school.

Matariki
Matariki is the Maori name for the group of stars also know as the pleiades stars cluster or the seven sister and what is known as the traditional maori new year. The maori new year is marked by the rise of matariki and the sighting of the next new moon. The pre-dawn rise of matariki can be seen in the last few days of May every year and the new year is marked at the sighting of the next new moon which occurs during June.
It has two meanings - Makariki means Tiny Eyes and Mata Ariki means Eyes of God.

Mum at school!
Yesterday my mum came to talk to my teacher about my chromebook so I can take it home. She signed a paper so I can take it home on Mondays and Wednesdays. Mrs Grant and Yayleen came too. My favorite part was when I ate some biscuits and a fruit bar and I had a drink. Then when the bell went, we got to take another bar home and a chocolate fish. I took a photo with my mum on my chromebook. I had trouble with the internet at home but it was cool listening to music.

Solar Oven and Teamwork
Following the instructions, I made a solar oven with Shakaia, Katrina and Tyron. It was fun cutting the cardboard, folding the newspapers and covering the top with tin foil. It was a bit tricky cutting the square in the lid and taping the clingfilm to cover the hole in the lid.
